The world may seemingly be coming to an end in the new movie Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince as the threats from Lord Voldemort and the Death Eaters grow stronger. But that does not stop young wizards Harry, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley from grappling with their hormones, falling in love and experiencing heartbreak. Love can be just as explosive as war for teenagers.
In my new Harry Potter feature for Fandango, I chatted with the film franchise’s three young stars about wizard puppy love, the movie’s clever balancing act between light comedy and dark drama and some of this installment’s more eccentric moments. In person the cast members are witty and self-deprecating, not taking their position for granted, while star Daniel Radcliffe is manically funny in a way that his onscreen alter ego is not.
