It took nearly a decade, but HIM guitarist Linde Lindstrom finally released his second album as Daniel Lioneye entitled Vol. II. And what a change there has been. While the first record The King of Rock’n Roll was hedonistic stoner rock, with the title track becoming the theme song to the MTV reality series Viva La Bam, this latest release is old school black metal. Clearly Linde has some issues he’s working out, and one can hear it in the belligerent tunes showcased on Vol. II.
The group’s current line-up — mastermind/vocalist/guitarist/bassist Linde, keyboardist Burton and Enochian Crescent drummer Bolton, along with HIM bassist and Lioneye co-lyricist Mige Amour — made an appearance for a listening party at 119 Bar in New York last Friday night, hosted by their North American label The End Records. It took place a few hours prior to the start of a three-night stand for HIM at The Fillmore.
ADD attended the event, snapped some pics and conducted interviews with Linde and Mige that will be posted in the near future.
Great shots! I was there as well and completely enjoyed myself. It was fun. Very cool hanging out with some of my favorite musicians. Vol. II is good and I’m looking forward to any possible tours they may do.
Thanks, glad you liked it. Next time I’m bringing my Nikon for crisper shots! Interview with Linde and Mige coming, too.
