Running Wilde stars Will Arnett and Keri Russell, co-creator/writer Mitch Hurwitz and the entire cast appeared for the red carpet premiere of the second episode of their Fox comedy show last Thursday night at the sixth annual New York Television Festival. A nearly packed house was on hand as the episode was screened, after which the cast and Hurwitz engaged in a panel discussion, followed by questions from the audience. For fans, it was fun to watch the show on a giant screen that was approximately 15 feet high.

I interviewed Arnett on the red carpet for AOL’s TV Squad prior to the screening. He’s aware of the fact that many people see him as playing the same type of character, but he drew distinctions between many: the driven Devon Banks on 30 Rock, the clueless Gob on Arrested Development and the seemingly jerky but secretly likable Steven Wilde on his current show. (Touché.) Running Wilde is off to a modest start, but given the strong followings that Arnett, Hurwitz and the recurring David Cross have, it could develop faster legs. Stay tuned.

Evidently not.
