Inside The 2010 Roadrunner Records Holiday Party

The one Yuletide celebration I perennially look forward to is the annual Roadrunner Records holiday blowout. A motley crew of metal peeps and industry friends always invade the company offices on Broadway in NYC to mix, mingle, guzzle gallons of booze and rock out to some hard ‘n’ heavy tunes. And as Roadrunner’s Monte Conner joked with me this week when I first waltzed in, you’d know the industry was really in trouble if the label didn’t hold its December party. There’s a lot of truth to that statement, and people who attend appreciate their effort every time. (The photo booth in the lobby was a nice touch for 2010.)

Following is a photo gallery of this year’s festivities. There were way more people present than I was able to photograph, but this is a good cross sampling of those in attendance. Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo reportedly showed up, but there was such a crush of people that it would have been hard to spot him if you didn’t know he was there. But we did manage to catch Scott Ian early on.

Happy Holidaze, Headbangers!

Inexplicably, a disco room. A few people got their groove on, but I missed it.
Funny to think that I interviewed Dani Filth in here once.

So bummed I missed the metal rage this year!
The disco room is also where I believe I made you read chick-lit out loud 2 years ago.

Actually, it was in the room with one of the three bars. And it was three years ago. 😉
