Fans of IDW‘s comic book adaptation of HBO’s hit series True Blood will be excited to sink their teeth into the third installment of the series, entitled True Blood: The French Quarter, which flies into stores in August 2011 to begin a six-issue run. This mini-series follows the success of All Together Now and Tainted Love.
This time out mind-reading waitress Sookie Stackhouse and vampire Sheriff Eric Northman travel to New Orleans to track down a killer named Guerra, whom Eric and Godric believed they had killed in Paris over two centuries ago. Of course, Bill Compton is lurking about as well, keeping a protective eye on Sookie as she works with Eric, but also looking into a local Hep-D outbreak that may be linked to Guerra’s latest victims. Simultaneously in Bon Temps, Pam is hanging out at Merlotte’s and seeking something from Lafayette. But what?
“We are delighted to be announcing the third installment of our True Blood comic series,” declares James Costos, IDW’s vice president of Licensing & Retail. “The franchise has been extremely successful and offers a terrific way for fans to engage with their favorite characters all year long.” The creative team for this story arc includes writers Mariah Huehner and David Tischman and artists David Messina and Claudia Balboni. Messina and Joe Corroney will provide covers. True Blood: The French Quarter #1 debuts in August and will retail for $3.99.
