Dystopian Delirium

We’ve seen this scenario many times before: Someone wakes up in a concrete cell with no knowledge of how she got there. She finds a barcode on her neck. Food is slid into her prison regularly but no other personal contact is made. She is desperate to escape, exercising body and mind while seeking a way out. Then she finds one. The dialogue-free sci-fi short Portal: No Escape, inspired by the Portal video game and directed by Dan Trachtenberg, offers a great twist on this tried and true scenario with SAW-like grittiness and Matrix-like philosophy. It’s a gripping five-minute ride. Check it out.
