Despite the fact that she just lost her Long Island home in the wake of the devastation wrought by Hurricane Irene, German metal queen Doro Pesch was in good spirits last night as she attended a dinner with media and music industry friends in New York City. When the topic came up, she smiled and simply said it was just another great challenge to face. She had already obtained some new stage clothes for her upcoming shows and was ready to go. This positive energy is certainly one of the main reasons why Doro has maintained a successful career spanning over 25 years and 2,500 shows. It was an achievement that was being celebrated at dinner, specifically the upcoming North American release of the 25 Years In Rock…And Still Going Strong CD and double DVD package.

Before the meal commenced at Mitali East on 6th Street (aka Indian Row), Doro told everyone that she was excited to be signed to Nuclear Blast Records and that she was appreciative of everyone’s support. Many of her bandmates were also in attendance at the five-hour dinner, and everyone seemed to be in an upbeat mode. The hard rocking group plays the Gramercy Theatre in NYC tomorrow, Friday September 9th, in NYC, then do a gig in Chicago on Sunday at Reggie’s Rock Club before Doro heads back to Germany for more promotional work on the release. (She does have a residence there as well.)
