Christmas has become the ultimate consumer holiday. While we count our blessings and like to ponder positive thoughts at this festive time of year, we also dash about in a mad daze trying to accumulate all the presents we need to give to people. Adults fighting and hurting one another during their shopping crusades certainly do not set a good example of sharing and caring for the kiddies, who await their gaggle of gifts under the XMas tree every December 25th. Indeed while many of us know how lucky or spoiled we were when we were younger, it seems like many parents are spoiling their kids more than ever, and I don’t think a lot of the little brats appreciate what they have. I’ll bet Santa agrees with me, and even he probably has his breaking point.
What does this all have to do with the following short film? Rising horror director Drew Daywalt has fashioned this tongue-in-cheek tale about a murderous old man named Kris Kringle who has been arrested after slaughtering young children on Christmas. The police are trying to figure out who he really is and why he did it. The climax to My Name Is Kris Kringle is great fun and so much more entertaining than that awful Silent Night, Deadly Night movie from the Eighties. Err, Merry Christmas!
