1. HEART “Never” — “The harmonies are strong and the chorus really moves. The perfect 80’s anthem. My husband and I belt the shit out of this one in the car.”

2. BON IVER “Holocene” — “There’s something completely bone-chilling when he breaks into the line, ‘And at once I knew, I was not magnificent.’ It feels like winter and loneliness and the most painful epiphany.”

3. ROLLING STONES “Live With Me” — “The opening bass line puts me in a whole different frame of mind. I immediately want to do some manual labor and get a little dirty. It’s a great rock and roll tune.”

4. DEFTONES “Diamond Eyes” — “An opposing see-saw of melodic and metal elements create a beautiful balance.”

5. CHAIRMEN OF THE BOARD “You’ve Got Me Dangling on a String” (groovy video here) — “Soul oozes out of this track, and General Johnson’s signature hiccupy vocals have room to pulse and shine.”
