More Universal Monsters Figures Coming

Back in black and grey: Dracula, Frankenstein and the Bride.

The classic, cinematic Universal Monsters from the first half of the 20th century remain etched into our pop culture memory, yet one wonders how well many people truly know the films as much as they do the iconic images of the creatures who star in them. That point is certainly one to consider in the wake of the new line of Diamond Select Toys figures due out this fall. Well timed for Universal Studios Home Entertainment’s Blu-ray box set reissue of their classic monster movies — which will include Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolf Man and Creature From The Black Lagoon — DST have three new goodies to excite fear fans, even the ones who simply love the creatures.

With 7-inch action figures, 2-inch Minimates and 8-inch vinyl bust banks already coming, DST will also be releasing a boxed set of 7-inch Dracula, Frankenstein and the Bride of Frankenstein figures sculpted by Gabriel Marquez, Rudy Garcia and Jean St. Jean. They will come packaged in a handsome display box with a base for out-of-package display. Then DST’s 8-inch Retro Cloth Series 3 will deliver both the Bride Of Frankenstein and the Creature From The Black Lagoon in the style of vintage 1970s toy lines such as Remco’s Universal Monsters or Mego’s World’s Greatest Monsters.

If you have not already crammed your shelf space with loads of other Universal Monsters toys, then make room for these.

When will you be doing a Bela Lagosi style Dracula in the same style as the Frankenstein, Werewolf and Bride of Frankenstein? I can’t believe you haven’t already!
