Henry Rollins Sounds Off On Gay Marriage

The issue of gay marriage has become a hot button topic in the United States again in recent months, especially after President Obama came out recently in support of it. (No pun intended.) But why does it continue to be such a problem for certain people? Henry Rollins ponders this issue in the following video monologue from Big Think, in which he asserts that at that this point in American history it is more convenient political fodder than anything else. One of the main points he makes is how many gay people had a positive influence on his life when he was younger, which mirrors my own personal experience. It is hard to be or stay prejudiced towards people who are persecuted for being different when they prove that they’re just like you. And if you do, then that says a lot about who you really are.
