I am on a few social media sites — Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, StumbleUpon — but I’ve never signed up for Instagram. I guess I’m just not interested in putting endless photos of myself or people or places I’ve shot. Perhaps my vanity will kick in and I’ll dive deep into it. Or use it for self-promotion, which is vanity anyway. The following College Humor video parodying addicted (and self-deluded) Instagram users set to the tune of Nickelback’s “Photograph” is brilliant. There is such a thing as too much information, and not in a real skeevy way here. Just in the “I don’t need to know what you’re doing all the time” kind of way. It makes me think that some people don’t live their lives when they are obsessively documenting it.
“Thanks to my smart phone,
I’m a freakin’ artist!”
Even Instagram lovers should get a laugh out of this.
